The same night that voters in Iowa were caucusing for their presidential candidates, Democrats in St. Louis held a mock caucus at The Royale, a local southside bar, to gauge support for the Democrats running for President.
Among those speaking on behalf of their candidates: Congressman Lacy Clay for Barack Obama; former governor Bob Holden for Hillary Clinton; Alderman Stephen Gregali and Alvin Reid, city editor of the St. Louis American, for John Edwards; and Dave Drebes from ArchCityChronicle.com for Joe Biden.
Just as in Iowa, Obama received the most support, followed by Edwards, with Clinton coming in third.
The event was sponsored by the Young Democrats of St. Louis.
Special thanks to Bill Streeter from Lo-Fi St. Louis for shooting this video while we were in Iowa.
