John McCain is broadcasting live from St. Louis right now on all the major networks. He is expected to reveal that at least the first day of the Republican National Convention will be dramatically scaled back because of the expected hurricane destruction facing the Gulf Coast.
It looks to me like a good break politically for McCain. There is a lot to be examined about his vp choice, among other things—and he can just be all sanctimonious about country first.
It reminds me of the forest fire scene in that old robert redford movie from 1974—the candidate.

Posted by flyover | 31. Aug, 2008, 9:09 PMThe BBC is reporting that Palin’s daughter IS pregnant. She WILL be marrying the child’s father. Also, she realeased a statement “Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realise very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family.”
I think this will put to rest any rumors about a “cover up”. I’d also like to see the Dem’s reaction. They had better tread carefully.
Posted by Turd Ferguson | 01. Sep, 2008, 1:06 PMThis is all too funny. I seriously hope that Gov. Palin’s daughter is left out of all this from now on…but I must admit that I wonder if her daughter’s high school offered information about the various forms of birth control…
Posted by jim | 01. Sep, 2008, 2:09 PMSeems to me that it is payback for trying to steal the media away after the Democratic Convention with Mc Cain’s announcement of his VP. Now nature has stolen the thunder of the Republicans convention.
I am also sure that they decided to make the announcement about her daughter today because they thought the Hurricane news would outweigh her announcement.
