  4. I suppose Robin Carnahan is going to ‘protect’ Missourians in the US Senate the same way she has a Secretary of State–by doing as the powers wish and relegating anyone not wealthy to the gutter. She failed as Secretary of State, and did not adequately provide for election fairness during the presidential election. Sourcewatch cited that Missouri’s election system is riddled with a lack of accurate information, and outright voter suppression. This is not her birthright. We have too many dynastic families in Missouri. Whether the name is Blunt, Clay, or Carnahan–the effect is the same–namely a stifling of democratic activity. Robin Carnahan has done nothing to protect the voters of Missouri; she does not deserve to
‘inherit’ the US Senate seat. Aside from which, her ongoing battle with cancer is something to consider. If she were cancer free, (5 years clear post-treatment)–I would have no problem with this. But, she is still in the treatment phase, and as such cannot guarantee she will be able to complete her term. I have heard that she has tapped Rachel Storch as her ‘successor’ should these events occur, but that is not the democratic way. Rachel Storch is another ‘limousine liberal’ who cares about liberal social issues as they cost no money, but does nothing to protect the lower income workers rights. I wish Robin Carnahan well in her health battle, but her choosing to run now is a selfish thing and does not consider the fate of the very constituents she professes to represent. Politically, Ms. Carnahan is another centrist, who loves the market forces, while everyday folk are drowning. We need firebrand, FDR style liberals who will fight for Single Payer healthcare for all, an end to all these wars and massive infrastructure investiment. Ms. Carnahas has close ties to the insurance and banking industry. How can she fight for healthcare for all–if she’s beholden to the private health insurance industry? Her fist job was with the Import/Export bank, which assists businesses working to outsource investments and jobs. This is not the Democrat we need.
God bless her during her health fight, but she does not deserve to be Senator.
